Crowdfunding in a Finnish golf course

By: January 18, 2013

For a blogger to get some kind of response from readers and visitors it is a good feeling and response to his writinings. When this relationship reaches that level, that his post gets comments with personal remarks it is even greater joy. This is what happened with me.

My reader Jari Rasinkangas wrote me couple of comments to my post. In that post I wrote about the benefits and neccesity of crowdfunding in the golf industry, especially in golf course development and golf course management. He explained me how his golf course was developed by crowdfunding. He said that "Nearly all golf courses here in Finland have been financed by equity based crowdfunding. A group of golfers have founded a golf club and put out a public offering for golf shares to finance the golf course construction.". If this would not be enough, he sent me today a book (see picture below) about  his golf course in Oulu, Finland.

Oulu is the most populous city in Northern Finland (close to the Swedish-Finnish border) and the sixth most populous city in the country. It is one of the northernmost larger cities in the world. Jari says they have in best case 5 months to play in this well situated golf course: https://golfpiste.com/oulungolfkerho/?lang=en.

Thank you Jari. :-))))
