It seems like Troon is not just expanding in Europe, but also in Australia (The Grange Golf Club). Troon has confirmed a partnership with Paradise Palms (Paradise Palms is a championship 18-hole golf course, a par 71, spanning 6,331 meters), which sees the organization become an integral part of the $550 million redevelopment program which is set to establish the resort as a centerpiece in North Queensland’s real-estate and leisure sector.

The ownership has developed a masterplan with the ambition of attracting guests and investment into its residential proposition. The road and earthworks started on January 18 and the construction in March 2016.

Paradise Palms havve signed a long-term partnership, which will see the industry leading company’s experts build a strategic pathway for the major redevelopment plan, including increasing the standards of service, course conditioning and processes in the golf property.

Paradise Palms is currently ranked as one of Australia’s top-100 courses, Paradise Palms has developed over 25 years of heritage and welcomed iconic Australian players to test themselves over the outstanding layout. Paradise Palms is striving to be ranked among the TOP25 golf courses in Australia.

What are the possible challenges of Paradise Palms?

  1. How will they convince people not to fly to Indonesia or Thailand for golf holidays?
  2. Aging golfers of Queensland. The playing member age profile (source: Golf Australia: Golf Participation Report 2014): women 61 years old, men 52.8 years old. Those who are joining now golf clubs in this region are men, 25-54 years old.
  3. How to increase the number of junior golfers?
