Where is the best value for money golf course in Scotland?

It seems like Macdonald Hotels in recovering from a £6.5 million pre-tax loss in 2013. Last year their profit was £3.6 million.

Macdonald Hotels as you can remember, agreed a 5 year finance deal with Lloyds Banking Group. Thanks to this deal it could afford to invest £5 million in its Aviemore resort, which included the completion of the £1 million clubhouse for the Dave Thomas-designed Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course along with a supervised play-zone for children (£600,000; 1,500 square meters of space with 9 age-specific “play” zones where you can also find a couple of Xboxes beside TVs with huge screens).

Now Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course has another reason to celebrate. They were recognized as the ‘Best Value for Money – £50 and £100’ course during the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2015.

The jury praised Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course‘s catering facilities, pro shop and overall welcome from employees. I think it is in line with the findings of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts’ quarterly benchmarking audit.
