Who is the next to join the European Tour Properties network?

By: March 2, 2016

A new Eastern European golf club is joining the European Tour Properties network in these days. The 7 years old Albatross Golf Resorts will be the 3rd Eastern European golf club to join the European Tour Properties network. The Estonian Golf & Country Club was the 1st join the network. Early this year, the Bulgarian Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort became part of the European Tour Properties network.

Unlike the 2 other Eastern European golf clubs, the Albatross Golf Resorts do not have to exert himself to gain awareness and become part of the consideration of the European Tour.

I think it is due to the fact that the Czech Republic is considered to be Eastern Europe’s most established golf market with cca. 57,000 golfers and 102 golf courses. I would not be surprised if the next Eastern European country who would be Poland. Poland is the 2nd largest golf market in the CEE region.

Within 7 years, Albatross Golf Resorts was able to achieve quite a lot:

  1. Hosting a Ladies European Tour event in 2011 and 2012.
  2. Home of the D+D REAL Czech Masters on the European Tour International Schedule, which was won by Jamie Donaldson in 2014 and Thomas Pieters in 2015. Another strong field is expected to contest the €1million prize fund from August 18-21 this year.
  3. Exclusive partnership agreements with the Dubai Emirates, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club and Penati Golf Resorts.
