Can Cleveland Golf make slower swinging golfers better?

By: November 13, 2014

At least this was Cleveland Golf's intention with the new Cleveland Golf Black Line. Their focus was espcially on senior and female golfers. I think beginners can be added to this list. Did you know that average golfer's swing speed is 15 mph slower than professional golfer?

Cleveland Golf Black Driver - minimum advertised price (MAP) of $349.99

The novelyt in the new Cleveland Black Driver in comparison of the previous version (from 2012) is that they lowered the Center of Gravity and moved it closer to the club face. Cleveland Golf also utlized the traditional shape and made it slightly bigger to provide us bigger confidence.

At these fairway woods Cleveland Golf also utilized lower swing MOI and lower center of gravity to increase launch angle.

The men’s and women’s Cleveland Golf Black fairway woods are available with Cleveland Golf’s widest selection of loft options ever (15°, 16.5°, 18° , 20° , and 23°), which allows slower swing speed players more options to replace difficult to hit long irons.

Cleveland Golf Black Irons

The new irons have a hollow hydric chassis. In the 4 and 5 irons the COG was moved lower and towards back of the club. In case of the 6 and 7 irons the COG is lower, but the face is thinner. This helps to achieve higher launch.

In comparison with the Cleveland 588 MT irons, the COR area is bigger by 20%. This iron is good for those golfers who have swing speeds less than 90 mph.

The men’s Cleveland Golf Black irons are offered with a Nippon NS Pro 1040 steel shaft ($699.99) or a Mitsubishi Bassara E60 graphite shaft ($799.99).  The women’s Cleveland Golf Black irons come standard with a Mitsubishi Bassara E-Series graphite shaft ($799.99).
